Tag | NetGalley

I was tagged by the lovely Amanda at Devouring Books to answer some questions about NetGalley. Having never made use of NetGalley before, I am hugely grateful to Amanda for tagging me in this as it inspired me to give it a go! My answers might not be great as I am so new to it but I hope you enjoy reading along regardless.

The Rules

  • Link back to the tag’s creator, Kourtni at Kourtni Reads
  • Thank and link back to the person who tagged you.
  • Answer the questions the best you can. If you don’t use NetGalley, you can substitute other sites or places where you get books!
  • Tag a few people to do this tag too.

AUTO-APPROVED: Who’s one author whose books you automatically want to read, regardless of what they are about?

This is without a doubt Khaled Hosseini. Every book of his is so beautifully written, discusses such important issues and always, without fail, makes me cry.

REQUEST: What makes you want to request a book on NetGalley?

So I’m about to omit some bookkind blasphemy but the first thing that will always attract me to a book is the cover (as I’m sure it does most people if we’re all completely honest). I also love a good (well-written) synopsis that can pull me in and I always get excited by certain books if I see fellow book bloggers/tubers talking about them.

BADGES: If you could create one badge to display on your blog, what would it be?

Hmmm, this is a tough one because I don’t really understand the badges system yet. But, just in general, I think a good badge would be one you display if you manage to read all the books you have bought before buying anymore…not that I would ever (EVER) receive this badge.

WISH FOR IT: What’s one book that you are absolutely dying to read?

So this doesn’t really stick to the NetGalley idea but I am absolutely DYING to read Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor. I’ve seen so much hype about this book, with multiple people declaring it their new favourite book of all time and the concept really grabs me.

2018 NETGALLEY CHALLENGE: What was the last ARC that you reviewed?

I haven’t…yet! I recently got approved for my first ARC – Outside by Sarah Ann Juckes – and will be reviewing it within the next couple of weeks.

Who I Am Tagging

No pressure to take part, I just picked a few people I’ve interacted with recently! For those of you reading, do you use NetGalley? What do you think of it? Any tips for a newbie?
